Services:

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl.  There will be a viewing beginning at 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM Wednesday at the church.  Interment will be in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Pen Argyl.  The Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, Pen Argyl is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials:

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to St. Elizabeth’s Building Fund, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA 18072

 


James J. Wills, Sr.
 
Born: November 11, 1925
Died: May 7, 2018

James J. Wills, Sr., 92, of Wind Gap, passed peacefully on Monday, May 7th at St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus.

He was married to the former Anne Hughes for 66 years.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Richard and Mary (McDonald) Wills.

He attended Technical High School and was employed for 42 years by the railroad, Erie Lackawanna, Conrail and N.J. Transit.

He was a World War II, Navy veteran, serving on the USS Preserver.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Pen Argyl.   He was also a member of the Wind Gap American Legion Post 724 and Harry Oaten’s Potbellies.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Along with his wife Anne, he is survived by two sons, James J. Wills, Jr., of Bethlehem and Thomas Wills and his wife Mary of Wind Gap.   There are two grandsons, Tommy and his wife Gina of Bethlehem and Patrick of Wind Gap, one great granddaughter, Mila, two sisters Rose Williams of Wayne, NJ, and Helene Balon of Binghamton, NY, a brother John Wills of Exton, PA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Verdon, Fred, Harold and Pete and a sister, Mielie Scialpi.
