Services:

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 2 PM at First United Methodist Church, 55 N. 3rd Street, Bangor, PA with the Rev. Chris Hardy officiating.  There will be a viewing beginning at 1 PM until time of services, Wednesday at the church.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl.  The Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, Pen Argyl is in charge of the arrangements.

Died: July 4, 2018

Sarah Ella Hewett, 93, of Bangor, passed away, Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at her residence.  She was the wife of the late John W. “Jack” Hewett, who passed away, November 26, 2015.

Born in Delabole, PA, March 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Claude, Sr. and Victoria (Eden) Fisher.

She was a 1943 graduate of Bangor High School, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bangor, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, past President of the UMW, and served on the Board of Trustees.  She was past President of the Columbus School PTA.

She formerly worked as a telephone operator for the former Blue Mountain Telephone Company. She also worked at the former Oyer’s Family Shoe Store, Bangor and the former Dick’s Flower Shop, Pen Argyl.

She is survived by a son, John A. “Butch” Hewett of Bangor, a granddaughter, Lisa Shafer, and grandchild, Sam Shafer, three sisters, Madeline Brown of Bethlehem, and Shirley Kressler of Palmer Township, and Beatrice Fisher of Bangor, a brother, Franklin Fisher of Flicksville, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, a daughter Linda K. Morris, and a brother, Claude Fisher, Jr. all died earlier.
