Services:

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl.  There will be viewing hours, Wednesday evening beginning at 5 PM until 8 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl and Thursday beginning at 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.  Interment will be in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Pen Argyl.

Memorials:

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to St. Elizabeth’s Building Fund, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA 18072.

 


Mary J. Detzi
 
Born: August 13, 1924
Died: January 25, 2019

Mary J. Detzi, 94, of Wind Gap, passed away, Friday, January 25, 2019, at Chandler Estates.  She was the wife of the late LeRoy, “Reno” Detzi, who passed away, December 18, 1982.

Born in Wind Gap, August 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Genga) Olivetti.

Mary and her late husband, Reno, founded Detzi’s Tavern, Inc, Wind Gap in 1960.  Prior to that she and her husband operated an independent delivery business for Leone Brothers Bakery, Easton.  She was also employed as a secretary for Fedon Electric, Pen Argyl. 

She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Pen Argyl, where she was a member of the Daughters’ of Mary Sodality.  She was a 1942 graduate of Pen Argyl High School.

Mary is survived by four sons, Michael L. Detzi and his companion Basia Burster of Wind Gap, John D. Detzi and his wife Sandra, Joseph D. Detzi and his wife Brenda and Jeffrey D. Detzi and his wife Susan all of Pen Argyl, four grandchildren, Kim, Chris Alexa and Caroline Detzi, three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooke, and James, two step grandchildren, Erica and Lauren Fedon and nieces and nephews.

In addition she was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Cotturo and Anna Fedon and three brothers, Ronald Olivetti, Norman Olivetti and Harvey Olivetti, Jr.
